PROBLEM

POSSIBLE CAUSE

Misassembled or damaged

breech and firing pin parts.

Failure of tool to depress com-

pletely.

Dirt buildup on breech not al-

lowing proper penetration of fir-

ing pin.

Breech screw loose.

Lack of proper cleaning.

REMEDY

Remove breech and check all

parts for correct fit assembly.

Check firing pin indentation on

cartridge. Clean breech,

breech face, and firing pin.

Tighten breech screw.

Inspect and clean complete

tool (see

Maintenance

on page

16). Replace worn or damaged

parts.
