IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
WHILE OPERATING MOWER
1. Stay alert. and use commom sense.Watch
what you are doing.
2. Stay behind the handle when the motor is
running.
3. Objects struck by mower blade can cause
severe injuries to persons. The lawn should
always be carefully examined and cleared
of all objects prior to each mowing.

Be aware of extension cord while operating
mower. Be careful not to trip over extension
cord. Keep extension cord away from cutter
blades at all times.
5. Avoid unintentional starting.
Do not carry plugged-in mower with
nger on switch.
Be sure safety key is removed when
plugging in mower.
Be sure bail handle is not engaged when
inserting key.
6. Do not overreach. Keep proper footing
and balance at all times when operating
mower.
7. Disconnect the mower from the power
supply and remove key
when not in use
before making adjustments
before servicing or cleaning
before lifting or transporting
before changing accessories or blade

Before any use, be sure everyone using
this tool reads and understands all safety
instructions and other information con-
tained in this manual.
Save these instructions and review
frequently prior to use.
BEFORE OPERATING MOWER
Read the manual before operating this mower.
Be thoroughly familiar with the controls and
the proper use of your mower.
1. Avoid Dangerous Environments
Do not operate mower in rain or in damp
or wet locations.
Do not operate mower in gaseous
explosive atmospheres. Motors nor-
mally spark and the sparks might ignite
fumes.
Do not operate mower while under the
infl uence of alcohol, medications, or
drugs.
Do not operate mower when you are
tired or ill.
Do not operate mower if it is damaged
or not securely and fully assembled.
2. Keep guards and shields in place and keep
them in working order.
3. Keep children out of the mowing area and
under watchful care of a responsible adult
other than the operator.
4. Be alert and turn mower off if a child enters
the area.
5. Only well instructed adults should operate
mower. Never allow children to operate
mower.
6. Use extra care when approaching blind
corners, shrubs, trees or other objects that
may block your view of a child.
7. Do not use mower for any job except that
for which it is intended.
8. Dress properly when operating mower.
Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry
that can get caught in moving parts of
the mower.
Wear long pants when operating
mower.
• Always wear rubber gloves and sub-
stantial rubber soled footwear when
working outside.
Do not operate mower when barefoot
or wearing open sandals.
Always wear a face or dust mask if
operation is dusty.
9. Always wear eye protection that meets
or exceeds the requirements of ANSI
Z87.1 (regular eyeglasses are not safety
glasses).
10. Guard against electric shock. Repair or
replace damaged cords immediately.
11. Thoroughly inspect the area where the
mower is to be used and remove all stones,
sticks, wires, bones, and other foreign ob-
jects that could be thrown by the blade.
12. Mow only in daylight or in good artifi cial
light.
13. Never operate mower in wet grass. Always
be sure of your footing; keep a fi rm hold
on the handle and walk; never run.
14. The use of any accessory or attachment
not recommended for use with this mower
could be hazardous and might increase risk
of injury.
15. Before using, always visually inspect to
see that the blade, blade fasteners, and
cutter assembly are not worn or dam-
aged. Replace worn or damaged blades
and fasteners in sets to preserve balance.
Inspect the mower cord - ensure it is in
good condition. Cord insulation must be
intact with no cracks or deterioration.

masks that are specially de-
signed to lter out microscopic
particles.

RISK OF CUT – Keep hands
and feet away from blades at all
times. Do not attempt to remove
cut material or unclog chute when
blade is moving.
